This is fan art from Bungie's classic first-person shooter, Marathon (1994).

Reference used (although you'll barely notice any resemblance—the model is much cuter and more friendly-looking :XD:): Chilly Perspective :Stock 11: by ~spiked-stock

This enemy alien is known as the Hunter. They were among the coolest enemies I can remember from the game, and I'd draw them as a kid (I'll try to dig up my old drawings from childhood and upload them when I get the chance), of course those drawings didn't do this creature justice in all of its awesome glory >:0
But anyway, now that Bungie has developed better-looking games since Marathon, you can appreciate their early concepts and even notice how they influenced their later productions; doesn't this fellow resemble the Hunters in Halo? Coincidence? =p

While working on this, I also thought about how ironic the creative process is for making concept art for games and similar games: lets use our imaginations to create the coolest-looking aliens possible... all for the purpose of blowing them up! xD

And a shout out to ~oOWhiplashOo whose corresponding fan art rekindled my inspiration from the game.

I hated these things so much. The Hunters in the original Marathon howled, and it was that sound I dreaded most.

yup, which is why my fav way to kill one was suicide. running up between its nose and blasting it to hell. it couldn't hit you, but youd die when it went down haha
